1. Review The University's New Student Registration Website
Familiarize yourself with the basic information and completing the ALEKS Math Placement test (if applicable) is essential to understanding how to complete the remaining steps.

2. Setting Up An Advising Appointment
Before you can register for your courses - you will have a temporary "Academic Advising Hold" on your student portal. Students are highly recommended to set up the appointment "In-Person" since they contain a lot of useful information. Initial Advising Appointments can last from 45-60 minutes.

3. UMX Programs Course
The University of Miami Experience (UMX 100) course is a graded, non-credit, online, self-paced course designed to help assimilate you to the University of Miami and ensure a successful transition. You will automatically be added to this course in your first semester.
